In the industrial field, because the working environment of equipment and systems may be very harsh, the requirements for connectors will be higher. Heavy-duty connectors refer to connectors that can support high current and high voltage. Heavy-duty connectors are widely used in aerospace, automobile manufacturing, port handling, construction engineering and other fields.

In the connector form, heavy duty connectors can be divided into the following forms:

1. Pluggable connector

Pluggable connector is a more common connector form, which usually uses a pluggable interface, which can be quickly connected and disconnected, and has high contact reliability and anti-jitter. Pin connectors and plate connectors are two common plug-and-pull connectors.

2. Press wire connector

The pressed wire connector achieves electrical connection by pressing the wire, which is usually suitable for connection occasions with high current and high voltage. Because no welding is required, installation and replacement are more convenient. Press-type connectors have several forms such as spring press-type connectors, screw press-type connectors and card press-type connectors.

3. Threaded connector

Threaded connector adopts threaded connection mode, has strong locking force and anti-vibration performance, suitable for the environment requirements are more demanding occasions. In addition, threaded connectors help to enhance the stability of the connection. Common threaded connectors are M8, M12, M16 and so on.

4. Welded connectors

Welded connectors usually require the connector to be welded together with the circuit board to provide good electrical connectivity and mechanical strength. Welded connectors are suitable for high temperature and high pressure environments, such as aerospace, automotive electronics and energy.

When choosing and using heavy-duty connectors, you need to pay attention to the following:

1. Select the appropriate connector model and specifications according to the current, voltage, temperature and other parameters of the connector.

2. Confirm whether the material of the connector is suitable for the required environment, such as high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, etc.

3. Check whether the waterproof and dustproof performance of the connector meets the requirements, especially when used in outdoor or humid environments.

4. Confirm the reliability and life of the connector, and carry out necessary maintenance and maintenance.

5. During the installation and disassembly of the connector, pay attention to avoid damaging the connector, wire and circuit board, etc., and ensure that the connection is correct, stable and reliable.

6. During the use of the connector, pay attention to the working status of the connector to discover and handle the fault in a timely manner.

According to the requirements of the connector, take relevant protective measures, such as lightning protection, ESD protection, and overcurrent protection.
